Rescue Puzzles

When a teammate is captured, they're stuck in a distraction room until someone frees them. Freeing them means solving a quick rescue puzzle at the room's latch.

How a rescue works

  1. Run to the captured teammate's distraction room and use the latch prompt (E).
  2. A puzzle appears — one of four random types:
  3. Math — solve a small arithmetic problem.
  4. Sequence — continue or repeat a sequence.
  5. Pattern — match a shown pattern.
  6. Logic — a short logic challenge.
  7. Answer correctly and your teammate is freed immediately.

Speed and cooldowns

  • Rescue speed is set by your class's Rescue stat — from 2.0 seconds (Anchor, rating 5) up to 4.0 seconds (rating 1). Faster rescuers spend less time exposed at the latch.
  • A wrong answer imposes a short retry cooldown (a few seconds) before you can attempt the puzzle again — scaled by class, so high-Rescue classes wait less and Anchor has no cooldown at all.

Skipping the puzzle — the Key Holder

The Latch class carries keys (1 per level, up to 3 with Class Mastery). A key instantly frees a captured teammate with no puzzle — the fastest possible rescue, ideal when a teammate is caught somewhere dangerous or the round is on the line.

Rooms per level

Levels have 2 to 4 distraction rooms (more on harder levels). Each captured player occupies a room until rescued or their hold expires.

Tips

  • Bring a dedicated rescuer — Anchor (fast, no cooldown) or Latch (instant key).
  • Don't attempt a rescue with a distractor still watching the room — you'll just get captured too. Scout helps you check first.
  • A wrong answer costs time; read the puzzle before committing.
