Doomscroller

Doomscroller
BasicHolds 1

The first distractor most players meet, the lone NPC of the tutorial (Level 1). Fast and twitchy with a short hold: it won't pin you for long, but it's quick enough to catch players who think they can run past.

How it distracts you

Its low charisma (30) means the capture takes longer than average (~9+ seconds for Plain), but its high Speed lets it stay glued to a moving target, keeping line-of-sight to make that time count. Once caught, the hold is a mild 20 seconds.

Think of Doomscroller as the "catches you while you run" distractor: it punishes sprinting through open space rather than using cover.

The Level 1 office map, the first real level new players get after the Tutorial, uses the Doomscroller as its only distractor type, so it's the first robot most players have to dodge in a real round: a forgiving introduction thanks to that short 20-second hold.

Counters

  • Don't try to out-run it in a straight line; use corners to break line-of-sight, which it can't chase through.
  • Its short range (8 studs) means tight, careful movement slips past it.
  • Even if caught, the 20s hold is quick to wait out or rescue.
